In addition to the PlayStation and Xbox versions, Sony Interactive Entertainment announces that a new version of MLB The Show will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Sony’s famous license, which has been cross-platform since last year, opens up a little more competition: “For the second year in a row, MLB The Show expands to a new platform and offers fans a new way to play!” MLB The Show turns 22 be available for the first time on Nintendo Switch and expand the console offering. This is a very exciting time for all of us as the iconic franchise continues to welcome new players. We’d like to thank everyone at Sony Interactive Entertainment, Xbox, Nintendo, MLB, MLB Players Association and San Diego Studio for making this possible. ”
Notably, Sony Interactive Entertainment and PlayStation’s Career Advisory Program continues to work with the Jackie Robinson Foundation to obtain the MLB The Show license and a new baseball sim opus. One dollar will be donated to JRF for every Collector’s Edition sold in the US through December 31st.
SIE San Diego Studio Unveils First MLB The Show 22 Trailer
MLB The Show 22 is scheduled for April 5th. There are no plans for a free update between the two console generations, but cross-play, cross-save and cross-platform are confirmed. Note that the Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Otani, aka “Shotime”, is the ambassador for this new work and doesn’t just appear on the jacket.
Mangaka Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai, Batman Ninja) drew Shohei Otani in an anime style for the MLB The Show 22 Collector’s Edition: “He is an outstanding athlete who shows superhero skills on the court. What better way to bring these two universes together than by creating a unique cover? “
