Sunday 3 April was the day of the winter regional phase of the Pinocchio Trophy “memorial Odilia Coccato” which saw the youngest of the Piedmontese archers compete for a place in the delegation that, in July, will challenge the other regions in the summer national phase in Palmi (RC). Only the absolute first classified during the regional phase qualify for the national one.
For the Arcieri della Quercia, Giada Marengo competed in the 2010 Girls category with a target at 20 meters, in her second edition of Pinocchio (this year without her sister Valentina, excluded from the competition due to age limits) and Alessandro Paesante, very young category 2012 with a target at 15 meters, which was just in its third race and both beat their opponents quickly taking the top of the class standings and climbing on the first step of the podium with two well-deserved golds: predictable but not obvious in the case of the talented Giada ( 425 points with 15 points behind the second) and almost sensational for the new revelation of the group, Alessandro, who with the result of 420 leaves the silver medal behind by as much as 28 points.
The result obtained automatically qualifies Giada Marengo (absolute best among archers) for the summer national phase which will be held in Calabria.
The archers of the Quercia organize for Saturday 9 April from 2 pm at the Cantarana sports field, an open day free and open to all to try archery.
