Àlex Rins and Marc Márquez, who was returning, warned

BarcelonaThe 500th MotoGP Grand Prix has left a great day for Catalans. The reaffirmation of Àlex Rins as a driver to be taken into account in the World Championship after finishing in second place and the difficult – successful – return of Marc Márquez have starred in the fourth race of the season in the top category. With tears in his eyes, Cervera sat in the chair once he got out of the Honda, and finished in a commendable sixth place: he returned after one last episode of double vision and does not want to leave anymore.

The departure of Catalan, however, has been a disaster. Cervera lost all the power of the bike when the traffic lights went out and failed to start his Honda in time. The brewer reacted and was able to rejoin the group, although in last place. It was time to go back and there is nothing that Marc Márquez likes more than challenges. Round after round he has been cutting until he reaches Pol Espargaró, in the fight for the tenth position. The boxing teammates have pulled out their nails to win the position, which has been for Cervera. After beating the current World Cup leader, Aleix Espargaró, and the current title champion, Fabio Quartararo, with exceptional advances, the Catalan has consolidated his sixth position with which he has crossed the finish line.

The Ducatis have set the pace for a race where the Italian mark has dominated the first place without opposition. The lead has been his from the start, with five bikes from the Italian factory in the top five positions on the grid. The battle for the top spot was between Jack Miler and Enea Bastianini, until the Italian pulled to the right five laps from the end and took Gresini back to the top of the MotoGP podium. He already did so in the World Cup debut this season and in the fourth race of the calendar he has once again added a victory to position himself as the new leader of the World Cup.

While all eyes were on Márquez’s marathon comeback, Alex Rins has declared war on the Ducatis. The Suzuki rider is setting his best season since joining the Japanese team in 2017. He is slowly catching up with his World Cup rivals. At the Austin Circuit GP, he has made great strides on every lap. The Barcelona native has been overtaking the Ducatis, with a safe, determined and forceful driving. As a quintessential witness to the struggle for leadership, the Catalan knew he had more to scratch than a third place and has pressed the accelerator to reach Miller. On the last corner of the last lap, attached to his wheel, he overtook him to climb to second place, surpassed only by Bastianini.
