Aké scores with City victory, Norwich and Krul relegation a fact | Football

City did not get many great opportunities, but Ake’s 2-0 in the 54th minute provided some relaxation fairly early in the run-up to Wednesday’s return in the Champions League against Real Madrid. The previous game in the semi-finals ended in 4-3 for City.

Aké touched the ball from close range after a header from defender Rúben Dias. It was the Dutchman’s third goal this season. The 27-year-old international also scored his only other league goal of this year against Leeds when they won 7-0. Shortly after his goal, Ake was substituted. At first glance, the injury didn’t seem very serious.

Spanish midfielder Rodri headed City ahead after 13 minutes. The Brazilians Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho also scored after the break. Raheem Sterling in particular still had opportunities, but Leeds defender Pascal Struijk, among others, was in the way once. The Dutchman played the entire game.

Liverpool win hard

Naby Keita put Liverpool in the lead after twenty minutes. The midfielder completed after a nice combination with Diogo Jota. It was Keita’s third goal of the season in the Premier League and his first since October last year.

There was massive protest at Newcastle. They found that James Milner fouled before the goal. The referee didn’t want to hear about this and so the goal just stood. The lead was more than justified, because Liverpool were lord and master.

Salah

Sadio Mané had a great chance to double the score after the break, but the Senegalese shot wide from close range to his own horror. Because the second goal for The Reds but did not fall, should Newcastle continue to hope for a good result.

In an attempt to close the game, Klopp brought Salah inside the lines. But even with the Egyptian in the field, the second goal didn’t want to go in. Nevertheless, Liverpool held their ground and took three important points.

Krul saw forwards Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings score for Aston Villa. Norwich City had been promoted last season. The club now holds the Premier League record for most relegations: six.
