Then hit quite hard by the coronavirus, she could not continue the competition and is slowly recovering, she said on her Instagram account on Saturday. “I just wanted to provide an update on where I am today,” Wickmayer writes. “During my coronavirus infection, I was very sick. I’m really taking my time now to recover and rebuild myself. I do a bit of cardio every day and listen to my body to know where the limits are. J hope to be able to resume competition at the beginning of May.”

“I believe that every setback is an opportunity to grow as a person,” concludes Wickmayer on a positive note.
