What are deaflympics?

The Deaflympics are a sporting event that takes place every four years just like the Olympic Games, they even last a little longer than the last ones and have become a worldwide movement that makes a good cause visible, although they have been singled out for not wanting to belong to the Paralympic GamesWell, according to experts, this is a disability that could be part of their game plan.

Like the Olympics, the deaflympics are held in both summer and winter and cover almost the same sports as in a normal fair, except that in winter the only team sports that can be held are curling y hockey and in individual it is not possible to practice ice skating.

In turn, a very noticeable difference between these competitions is that the visual predominates, since whistles or shots cannot be used, everything has to be with a colored flag that athletes can easily see.

The first of these competitions was held in France in the year 1924 and have only been put on pause for reasons of force majeure, as was the WWII and the pandemic caused by covid-19. Most of these competitions have been based in Europe and only six times have they been held outside of it.

The opening ceremony of the fair that will bring together representatives from 117 countries will be held on May 1 and Mexico will have its first appearance on the 3rd in the discipline of judo.
