305 players expected at the national tournament of the Badminton club Kemperle – Quimperlé



With the covid, they had been chomping at the bit for two years. The 70 volunteers of the Badminton club Kemperle (BCK) will finally organize the 20th edition of their national tournament. If there were concerns about the number of participants, the organizers were quickly reassured. “We will have 305 players, which equals our 2019 record. We could have welcomed more, but there is competition in Cholet and Rennes. Given the health context, it is already a success ”, rejoices Jacky Hamoniaux, president of the BCK, who received registrations from 57 clubs, from Brittany but also from Normandy and the Paris region.

A first para-badminton tournament

In addition to the tournament open to regional and national categories, the BCK innovates by organizing a para-badminton competition with eight athletes playing in wheelchairs. “We will have four men and four women in this draw, watching them play is always impressive. We are very happy to launch this competition, ”announces the organizer, who has also opened tables for the youngest and minimal, girls and boys.

Two days of competition

The matches will be played at Kerjouanneau (twelve pitches) and at Cordiers (seven pitches). The kick-off will be given on Saturday April 9, at 8:30 a.m., for singles, mixed doubles, junior and minor singles and para-badminton, with all finals being played at Les Cordiers at the end of the afternoon. Sunday, April 10, the cover will be given with the women’s doubles and men’s doubles from 8:30 a.m., finals around 3:30 p.m.
