Cochabamba (Bolivia), Apr 28 (EFE).- Sao Paulo established itself at the top of group D of the South American Cup with an unquestionable 1-3 in their visit to the Bolivian Wilstermann at the Félix Capriles stadium, located 2,580 meters from altitude.

The victory put those led by the historic Rogelio Ceni with a perfect score after three games, behind is the Chilean Everton with 4, the Peruvian Ayacucho with 3 and in the basement, practically eliminated, Wilstermann with a unit.

The goals were conquests by Igor Gomes in the 23rd minute, Reinaldo from a penalty in the 65th minute and Marquinhos five from the end, while Colombian Humberto Osorio scored for the local in the 31st minute from twelve steps.

Despite the fact that the obligation to go on the attack weighed on the local team, it was Sao Paulo who initially took control of the ball to look for the goal of debutant goalkeeper Bruno Poveda of the ‘aviator’.

Sao Paulo’s control of the game became an advantage when in the 23rd minute Gomes holed the ball after an overflow from the right.

The goal of the visit made those led by the Uruguayan Sergio Migliaccio respond with some deep balls that sought to surprise the defensive line of the Paulistas.

In one of those attempts, the Ecuadorian Robert Arboleda committed a foul in his own area against the Colombian striker Osorio del Wilstermann that judge Carlos Ortega marked as a penalty and it was the same striker who converted the tie.

From that the game was balanced and both had some approaches to the goals.

In the second half, Sao Paulo again took the initiative and a free kick that the Argentine Emiliano Rigoni crashed into Poveda’s crossbar warned about the forcefulness of the visitors.

In the 63rd minute, after an infraction by the Wilstermann goalkeeper sanctioned as a penalty, Reinaldo converted the second goal for his team.

Wilstermann’s reaction was immediate as he built several very dangerous attacks through Osorio, Serginho and Moisés Villarroel, but they lacked accuracy in the definition.

When everything seemed to be drawing, near the end, Marquinhos dashed the home side’s hopes with a fine left-footed shot that slipped close to Poveda’s right post.
