World Cup 2022: Lasers in the eyes, a missed shot on goal, a rowdy exit, Salah experienced an ordeal

A remake of the final of the last African Cup of Nations. That’s what everyone thought when they saw the World Cup play-off between Senegal and Egypt. The term remake took on its full meaning since once again it was the Lions who had the last word, again after a penalty shootout.

A cruel session for the Egyptians. Because like Mohamed Salah targeted by many green lasers before gaining momentum, the Pharaohs missed their first four attempts! Impossible to survive and as a symbol, it was Sadio Mané who scored the decisive shot on goal in favor of Senegal.

The impressive public massed at the Abdoulaye-Wade stadium, in Diamniadio, near Dakar, was not imperial with these lasers necessarily disturbing for the Egyptian players, an attitude that the Senegalese had denounced in the first leg.

For Mohamed Salah, it is obviously a nightmare. An elimination in the World Cup play-off which therefore follows the lost final of the African Cup of Nations… And to make matters worse, even his exit from the field will have been complicated. Between a supporter who tries to approach him and who has been dismissed by the security service or the throwing of many projectiles, he will have been heckled to the end.
