Win 3-2, the Blues to the FA Cup Quarterfinals

Chelsea met Luton Twon in the fifth round of the FA Cup. After two behind, the Blues can win 3-2.

Competing at Kenilworth Road, Thursday (3/3/2022) early morning WIB, Luton was able to lead 1-0 in the second minute. Reece Burke tore the Blues goal with a header after welcoming Luke Berry’s ball from a corner.

Chelsea tried as quickly as possible to find a goal in return. Despite many attacks, the Blue was not able to open a shot until the 20th minute.

Chelsea can only score a goal in the 27th minute. Timo Werner got the ball in the middle of the field and then approached the penalty box. Control from the German striker had lost, but there was Saul Niguez who grabbed the ball to make the score 1-1.

Luton surprised Chelsea in the 40th minute. Harry Cornick came offside from an offside position and was able to go head-to-head with Kepa Arrizabalaga to put Luton 2-1 up at the break.

Chelsea put a lot of pressure on Luton in the second half, but struggled to get a shot from the open-play scheme. On the other hand, Luton actually didn’t play too defensively.

Chelsea’s hard work just bore fruit in the 68th minute. Ruben Loftus-Cheek crossed from the middle of the field and was met by Werner, who then beat Jed Steer to make it 2-2.

Chelsea can finally turn to lead 3-2 in the 78th minute. Werner’s cross into Luton’s goal mouth was converted into a goal by Romelu Lukaku.

Thomas Tuchel’s men looked more relaxed after taking the lead. They are engrossed in maintaining possession of the ball, without having to force to penetrate the opponent’s penalty box.

There are no additional goals until the game is over. Chelsea advanced to the quarterfinals after beating Luton 3-2.
