Univé becomes Official Partner Feyenoord

Feyenoord has managed to bind Univé to the club as an Official Partner. The agreement, which is effective immediately, is entered into for a duration of at least 2.5 years. As a result of the agreement, Univé will not only become a partner of Feyenoord 1, but will also embrace the other disciplines that Feyenoord is rich in. Univé also commits itself to Feyenoord Women 1, Feyenoord Basketball, Feyenoord Handball and can call itself a Social Partner of the Feyenoord Foundation.

Joris van Dijk, commercial director of Feyenoord is pleased that Univé is committed to Feyenoord so broadly. ‘That’s pretty unique. This is a great development for the club, because we think it is important to continue to radiate how much more Feyenoord is than just football in De Kuip. The fact that Univé also contributes to achieving the social objectives of the Feyenoord Foundation shows what they want to stand for as a brand.’

According to Dennis Teijgeler, CEO of Univé Het Groene Hart, Univé is a committed cooperative that is close to its members and wants to add value to society. ‘We do this in areas such as health, for which sport and exercise are crucial. Univé is involved in more than 250 local, regional and national sporting events and initiatives through its ‘Supporter of Sport’ programme. We also sponsor hundreds of Dutch sports associations.

According to Alex Vreugdenhil, commercial manager of Univé Het Groene Hart, the fact that Univé has found a powerful partner in sports with Feyenoord in the Rijnmond region is ‘a fantastic milestone.’ ‘The rural appearance of Feyenoord naturally appeals to the imagination. But how the club, like Univé, stimulates local and regional sports and exercise is mainly the reason why we entered into this partnership. On a social level, Feyenoord activates thousands of children with all kinds of initiatives at schools, sports clubs and in the neighbourhood. Such projects fit in seamlessly with our mission as a Sports Supporter. As a partner of Feyenoord, we would therefore like to contribute to this.’

A special part of the partnership is the Univé Clubhouse, which will open the cooperative in De Kuip in the near future. This includes a meeting place in one of the stadium’s studios overlooking the grass. On working days, existing and new Univé customers can come here for advice on insurance matters and risk prevention.
