TKH Luchse celebrate a victory without value at the end of the main round

Towards the end of the second quarter, the annoying resistance of the guests from Wasserburg was finally broken. Surprisingly, TK Hannover was 34:38 behind when it was the captain’s turn to turn the game around. Aliaksandra Tarasava turned the game to 43:38 with nine points in a row. When Lara Rohkohl, who had just come on as a substitute, added two points, the trend was clear.

Wasserburg only for five

After a tense start, Hannover was in the game and set the course for victory. The outstanding Tarasava scored 19 points in the first half alone and led her team into the break with a 48:40. Ultimately, on Sunday afternoon, in front of around 200 spectators in the hall on Birkenstraße, the last Bundesliga home game of the main round was 94:86 for the TKH basketball lynxes against TSV Wasserburg.

Due to numerous corona failures, the Bavarians only arrived with a squad of five players that had been reduced to a minimum. Just enough to get an official team for the field. Wasserburg trainer Rebecca Thoresen had no change options.

Main round ends prematurely, TKH would be sixth

Everything was more or less obsolete anyway because the course had been set the day before how the main round of the Bundesliga should be brought to a proper end. The club representatives of the 1st Basketball Bundesliga met in Frankfurt for five hours. From Hanover: team manager Doro Richter.

The result of the majority vote: the numerous outstanding catch-up games will be cancelled. The final table should be determined by quotient, which results in the ranking for the play-offs. The decision is not official yet. The other shareholders of the league (2nd DBBL and DBB) still have to agree at the beginning of the week.

A matter of form – and without alternative. If all the outstanding games were really to be played, the league would not be ready until early or mid-April. Play-offs would then have been done. Especially since the Rhineland Lions would already be the champions. This scenario was not even discussed in Frankfurt. So the clubs decided with the league for the quick end of the main round.

Quick reunion with wine presses

Hannover would only have had one catch-up game against Keltern. That has now been settled, but there will probably be a reunion with the master – in the play-offs. According to the quotient regulation, TKH would most likely be sixth in the preliminary round and would meet third – and that would be Keltern. The game day on Sunday didn’t change that either. TKH missed their chance of fourth place and a possible home advantage in the first play-off round last Thursday with the bankruptcy in Saarlouis.

So Hanover could easily play. In the third quarter, the resistance of the TSV collapsed completely. The game was decided when the score was 67:47.

The TKH will continue with the Cup Final Four in Herne next weekend. The first playoff game is on March 27th.

TKH Punkte: Tarasava 24, Roscoe 15, Morawiec 15, Stammberger 11, Moten 8, Brossmann 8, Rohkohl 6, Schaake 3, Eckerle 2, Zipser 2.
