PSG: the Ultras demand the resignation of the club’s management

LThe Parisian Ultras do not intend to be silent, a few days after the new gag defeat of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) against Real Madrid (3-1), during the knockout stages of the Champions League. In a press release posted on Twitter on Saturday March 12, the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) calls for the resignation of the club’s management, castigating an “unacceptable and inevitable disillusion”. In its text, the CUP also calls on Parisian supporters to express, “without violence”, their “dissatisfaction” during the Ligue 1 match scheduled for Sunday March 13 in the evening, which will oppose PSG to Bordeaux.

“We know what our return owes to President Nasser al-Khelaïfi, there is nothing personal here, but it is clear that he is not the man for the job. The club’s situation now requires a complete reorganization at all levels and the daily presence of its president, “says the CUP, which brings together various ultra groups from PSG, in a press release.

“Star Stacking”

The CUP castigates in passing the club’s lack of a game plan and the policy of sporting director Leonardo, with a recruitment described as “stack of stars with little or no complement”, like last summer’s transfer window, which saw PSG attract Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Georginio Wijnaldum. The players themselves are not spared: the CUP denounces their low investment in national competitions, played “at a senator’s pace”, or their lack of closeness to supporters.

“Against Bordeaux this Sunday, we are going to show our dissatisfaction and we ask all the lovers of the club present to unite in our actions without violence”, adds the CUP. “We will remain mobilized as long as real major changes are not implemented. The club’s ultra supporters had already expressed their anger in February, deserting their usual stand at the Parc des Princes during the first 25 minutes of the Ligue 1 match against Rennes (1-0). In a banner, they had sent a message to Leonardo asking him if it was not “time to clear”.

Paris SG, solid leader of the L1, only has the title of champion of France to run for in a gloomy season where the club lost the Trophée des champions in August, then was eliminated in turn from the Coupe de France and the Champions League, one of the worst records since the arrival of the Qatari fund QSI in 2011.
