The Nettuno BC 1945 is pleased to announce the signing of Colombian shortstop Derwin Pomare. Champion of the Colombian Liga 2021-2022 with the Caimanes de Barraquilla who then also triumphed in the 2022 Serie del Caribe.
Derwin Dix Pomare was born in San Andres, Colombia on 11 May 1995. He began his professional career in the San Diego Padres organization in 2012, playing three seasons of the Dominican Summer League. He then continued his career in Panama and Colombia wearing the jackets of the Indios De Veraguas, the Tigres de Cartagena, the Toros de Sincelejos and the Caimanes de Barraquilla. With the Caimanes he has won the title of the LPBC (Liga Professional Beisbol Colombia) in the last two seasons.
In the regular season of the La Liga that crowned the Caimanes champions for the second consecutive time, Derwin Pomare beat with an average of .281 with 3 home runs, 6 doubles and 16 RBI. Often used by the manager Mosquera in spots 4 and 5 of the Caimanes lineup.
He wore the Colombian national team jersey for the Olympic qualification tournament and the Central American Games.
