NBA and IMATTA, an Australia-based high-end design and manufacturing house for private label and licensed eyewear, today announced the launch of a new premium league and team branded eyewear product line. The inaugural collection, available today * both retail and online at matadorproject.com, includes sports eyewear ($ 179 / € 160 / £ 135 retail) for snow and bike enthusiasts, anti-UV visors ($ 79 / € 70 / £ 60) retail) and sunglasses ($ 79-99 // € 70- € 90 / £ 60- £ 75 retail) in a wide range of styles and silhouettes. Additional product assortments are currently under development for summer 2022 and beyond.
In 2020, IMATTA partnered with the NBA to produce its made in Italy products which will be decorated with the iconic NBA logoman and with the logos of individual teams in the league’s 30 franchises, including Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and more.
· NBA sports glasses are manufactured with flexible thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and feature an extra-large frame designed to offer optimal vision by adapting to the face. Its high quality magnetic lenses are interchangeable, complete with 100% UVA / UVB filters and anti-fog coating. The adjustable elastic nylon strap boasts each team’s respective logo and the goggle is fully compatible with most helmets currently on the market.
NBA sun visors feature the same type of interchangeable magnetic lenses, anti-fog coating and 100% UVA / UVB blocking properties. The entire shield of the visor is made of high quality colored polycarbonate, is decorated with NBA signature logos and enhanced by an elastic fabric strap with the inscription of the team branding, which are adjustable for added comfort.
The NBA sunglass collection consists of five styles, plus two shapes in the kids’ size. The glasses are made with top quality Italian Mazzucchelli acetate and finished with CR39 lenses.
