SANTO DOMINGO — The Mexican team led by Maribel Domínguez got her second win in the U-20 Women’s Pre-World Cup and reaffirmed its leadership in Group F, defeating Guyana at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in the Dominican Republic.

The Tricolor got a wider score than in its presentation, by winning 5-0 over Guyana in a dizzying match well played by the Mexicans.

Saturday, Mexico started the tie by thrashing Panama (3-0) and this time they repeated, although playing better. The first goal fell at minute 10 through Paola Chavero. The Pumas player advanced on the scoreboard to Tri with a penalty kick.

The second goal was made by Maritza Maldonado at 28′. The Querétaro player arrived to push the ball in front of the goal, while the third for the Aztecs was the work of Tatiana Flores, who at minute 37 debuted with the Tricolor when finishing off a cross from the right.

The game of Mexico gave no room for reaction Guyana. Unlike the first half of the debut game against Panama, when they went blank, this time Maribel Domínguez’s pupils asserted their status as favorites from the opening whistle, and already in the complementary part they reaffirmed their dominance with more goals.

At 55′, the fourth for Mexico Maritza Maldonado got it, which was a double in her personal account with a shot from outside the area. But the fifth was still missing, which emerged after a service by Natalia Mauelón in the area; she left the ball for Aylin Avilez to sign. Avilez, by the way, already has a double in the World Cup, and Mexico yet another win. The national team has gone from less to more in the tie, with eight goals scored and none allowed so far.
