Manchester City will have to do without defender Ruben Dias for four to six weeks. The Portuguese injured his hamstring in the FA Cup. Due to the new injury, City is very tight in the back for the arrival of city rivals United.
Dias was injured in the first half of the match against Peterborough, Tuesday in the FA Cup (0-2 win). Nathan Ake also suffered an injury, although it seems to be less serious.
Kevin De Bruyne’s team can only rely on two central defenders in the derby against Manchester United on Sunday: John Stones and Aymeric Laporte.
It is not certain that 24-year-old Dias, who came over from Benfica in September 2020, will be fit in time for the top clash with Liverpool. That match is scheduled for April 10.
Man.City still has six points ahead of Liverpool in the title fight, which played one game less.
