Lindai Town, located in Pinghu City, Zhejiang Province, is a veritable “baseball town”. The town has the only youth baseball base that meets international standards in Zhejiang Province. Since 2019, it has hosted 15 baseball events in the Yangtze River Delta region, 3 national youth baseball games, and local games, and hosted a total of 15 baseball events from all over the country. There are nearly 200 baseball teams, more than 7,000 athletes and accompanying parents, attracting the world’s largest youth baseball club, Babe Ruth Baseball League, to settle down in China, and was awarded the “China Youth Baseball Team U10 Training Base”.
Lindai Baseball Base is only a 15-minute drive from the main urban area of Pinghu. It has several functional areas such as the entrance landscape area, practice preparation area, competition field area, waterfront recreation area, and baseball culture exhibition area. Baseball exchange training base, rural revitalization on-site teaching point and social practice base of Zhejiang University School of Public Administration, and won the “Excellent Project of Sports and Leisure Tourism in Zhejiang Province”.
In recent years, Lindai Town has focused on the construction of baseball bases, focusing on building two beautiful villages, “Shuiyun Sunbang” and “Guoxiang Yujiabang”, and strives to improve the reception capacity of rural tourism. Drive the development of rural tourism through the baseball base and closely connect with the villagers’ income increase. Combining the construction of beautiful villages and beautiful towns to create rural countryside scenic spots, it has embarked on a development path of “agriculture + sports + tourism”.
While developing the baseball industry, Lin Daizhen actively cooperates with local enterprises to design and manufacture baseball peripheral products such as baseball uniforms, baseball caps, and baseball bags. An animation design company was commissioned to design the baseball stadium logo and mascot “茏茏”, and to produce cultural and creative products. Drive baseball sports with baseball stadiums, promote cultural and creative products with baseball sports, and realize the vertical development of the baseball industry.
In addition, Lindai Town has also further integrated resources to create baseball-themed homestays and farmhouses to attract tourists, make 31 low-income families truly become “shareholders”, and effectively increase the economic income of the villagers. (Ling Yibo)
