José Alvarado reaches a four-year extension with the Pelicans

José Alvarado reached a four-year contract extension with the New Orleans Pelicans, signing a new deal that includes $6.5 million in salary.

According to reporter Shams Charania, Alvarado gets $3.4 million guaranteed over the next two years, including $1.5 million for the rest of this season, on top of the $800,000 he has earned so far this season.

The 23-year-old rookie has played 46 games this season, posting 6.2 points per game, 2.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
