During the second trip, Jonas did not start, because during the first trip, the seams that had been put on the athlete after the recent wrist surgery came to light.

The Latvian motorcyclist, representing the Husqvarna factory team, was 13th in qualifying on Saturday and competed for seventh place in the first laps of his first race of the season, but continued to retire to the second decade. In the second half of the trip, the Latvian climbed from the 13th to the tenth place in the battle with the Dutch and Australian motorcyclists.

From the start, there was a fierce battle between the Spanish Horhi Prado and the Slovenian Tim Gajser, who finished in the first two positions, and the third was the Frenchman Maxim Reno.

In the second race after the start, the Swiss Jeremy Severer took the lead, but later he was overtaken by Guyer, who remained in the first place until the finish and also won the stage. Reno was second in the race, and Jason’s teammate Brian Bogers from the Netherlands took third place.

Sīver experienced a fall and finished fifth, while Prado took seventh place after an unsuccessful start and later a fall.

Guyers won 47 points in the stage and was first, Reno 42 points in second place and Prado in third place with 39 points. Jonas’ 11 points in the first race put him in 18th place.

With 94 points in the overall World Cup standings, Guy is the leader with 82 points and Prado is in second place, while Reno is in third place with 77 points. Jonas ranks 21st.

In the first stage in Great Britain, Jonas did not participate, because he recovered after the operation of the inflamed tendons of the wrist, but the victory was celebrated by Guyers.

Jeffrey Herlings from the Netherlands won the 2021 championship, leaving behind Frenchman Roman Fever and Guyer. Jonas, who experienced heavy falls during the season and struggled with injuries, finished the season in eighth position.

20 stages are planned for this season and the sixth of them will take place on April 24 in Ķegums.
