F1 TV Pro did not seem to provide an option for Dutch commentary in its application this season, but that will change from June 2022. By means of a mailing, the official streaming app of Formula 1 announces that Dutch commentary will soon be available again.

Last month, Dutch subscribers of F1 TV Pro had to deal with a hefty setback, when it became known that there would be no option to choose Dutch commentary during the broadcasts. Last year it was still possible to opt for the familiar voices of Jack Plooij, Olav Mol and Rick Winkelman, but now that Viaplay has acquired the broadcasting rights, this is no longer the case. Fortunately, hard work is being done behind the scenes to add the voices of the new commentators, Nelson Valkenburg and Melroy Heemskerk, to the F1 TV Pro app, Formula 1 says in a mailing to its customers.

NL commentary from June at F1TV Pro

The sound of the two brand new Viaplay commentators should be heard via F1 TV Pro from June 2022. With this, Formula 1 hopes to be able to serve its Dutch fans at their beck and call. In its mailing, Formula 1 opened with the bad news that the Dutch commentary will not be available in the coming period, but it also immediately brought the good news that this will be the case from next June. “Unfortunately, we have to inform you that commentary in Dutch will only be available from June 2022,” it writes. “You can still listen to the commentary in the various other languages. As soon as the commentary in Dutch is available, we’ll let you know.”
