Why Luka Doncic was very clever in attacking LeBron James in the money time
– The stampede continues for the Lakers. For the 7th time in a row, they lost against their Clippers neighbors, who can no longer even be said to be competitors, since they now have 6 more wins in the standings. Once again, LA walked on alternating current, with an honorable first half ended on a big run, then… nothingness in the 3rd quarter (40-18).
Frank Vogel does not find the solutions, LeBron James is too lonely (26 pts, 8 rebounds, 4 wt) and there is no game identity or real fighting spirit in this team. Even Anthony Davis will not be able to change everything to the point of making it quite threatening during the play-in and possibly in the playoffs.
On the Clippers side, we have fewer stars, but more ideas and desire. Reggie Jackson was the boss of the team and chose the right day to release one of his best games in the NBA this season: 36 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds for the Californian leader. Nicholas Batum played 19 minutes for 6 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists at 2/2 3-point range.

– The Warriors are in bad shape and suffered a third straight loss on the floor of Dallas. Stephen Curry and his comrades are struggling to find their best form without Draymond Green and they fell last night on a Luka Doncic who wanted to regale and control the proceedings. The Slovenian has posted 41 points and 9 assists and has been playing high-level matches in recent weeks. It is the 6th victory in 7 matches for Dallas, well established in the top 5 of the West. The contribution of Spencer Dinwiddie (17 pts, 7 pds off the bench) was again notable.

– Kevin Durant made his return tonight at the Miami reception. The Nets star could not prevent the defeat of his family, despite the absences of Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry in the opposing camp. KD did not seem too rusty (31 pts) but simply lacked skill in the money time, notably missing a shot that could have turned Brooklyn into the lead as the last minute of play approached.

– Bring Young activated wisp mode and the Hawks took the opportunity to beat Chicago at home. Atlanta is trying to hang on to 10th place, the last qualifier for the play-in, and had to pull off a shot against the Bulls. – The Spurs are struggling to take advantage of the setbacks of the Lakers and it’s a shame for them. In the race for 10th place, San Antonio lost an opportunity to close in on the Angelenos and lost at home to Sacramento. The Fox-Barnes pair (53 pts in aggregate) prevented Gregg Popovich from equaling Don Nelson for the number of regular season wins.
– The Pistons are winning a few too many games at the moment for a tanking team, but what they offer is quite interesting and promising. Detroit went to surprise Toronto on the outside, confirming its status as the Raptors’ pet peeve with a 6th straight success for Dwane Casey against his former employer.
