Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev postpone their match in Mexico to 2023

Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, in conjunction with Tennis Showdown, they had an exhibition match scheduled for March 21 in Mexico City, but through a press release announced that it will be postponed until 2023.

“In attention to all parties involved, the Tennis Showdown Mexico organization (along with the players) have decided that this is not the time to hold this game of exhibition.

Both Medvedev and Rublev have committed to play this match next Monday March 23, 2023 and they are excited to come to Mexico City,” the statement said.

The last time Medvedev was in Mexico was a couple of weeks ago at the Mexican Tennis Open in Acapulco.

On the other hand, Rublev was going to appear for the first time in the country as a professional since he had activity as a junior in the Mexican Youth Open at Club Chapultepec.

Notably both Medvedev and Rublev spoke out against the war between Ukraine and Russia and neither can compete under the Russian flag after the sanction approved by the ATP.
