Those, again, who prefer to put their hands in the dough, to supervise young people, to transmit. Those who, in short, help on all sides. Yan-Aël Yvonnou is one of them. And he will also be on the pitch this weekend for the Brittany Youth Badminton Championships organized by his club.
“I will look more closely at their performances than mine”
At 17, the high school student begins his ninth year at Ujap Quimper. A fan of racket sports, he “immediately hooked” on badminton. And has been giving his time for more than four years in the Quimper club of which he is part of the office. “It’s true that it takes me a lot of time, he opines. But that’s what I like. I prefer to play sports than go to the bar, it’s my way of escaping! »
This weekend, Yan-Aël Yvonnou will participate for the first time in a Brittany championship in gymnasiums where he is more used to supervising young people than to competing. “I’m here to have fun, show the colors, meet the appointment … And it’s true that I would like to win a match”, slips, in a shy smile, the one who will also work behind the scenes for the good organization of the event. “I will also surely have more eyes on the other players at the club than on my own: there is a chance that they will go further than me! laughs the young Quimper who will be in the oven and at the mill for 48 hours.
