All set for the next edition of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 that will take place in Brazil from September 2 to 11this Tuesday the draw was held and the groups were defined where it stands out of course Group C where Mexico will share a group with the United StatesIn addition, group B will also be an interesting fight with Puerto Rico, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
This is how the groups of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 were
The draw was held in the city of Miami and as guests were four emblematic basketball players from their country, all at some point in the NBA: Gustavo Ayón was representing Mexico, Anderson Varejao to host Brazil, Carlos Arroyo to Puerto Rico and Francisco García to the Dominican Republic.
Group A: Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Canada
B Group: Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Argentina
Group C: Mexico, Venezuela, Panama, United States
How the AmeriCup 2022 will be played
For the group stage, the cities of Brasilia and Recife will be the venues. The first and second of each group qualify for the quarterfinals, in addition to the 2 best third places. And they will face each other as follows:
best 1st place vs. second best 3rd place
Second best 1st. place vs. best 3rd place
Remaining 1st. place vs. lowest 2nd place
Best 2nd. place vs. second best 2nd Place

The Final Phase that includes from the quarterfinals will be played only in the city of Recife. The tournament looks very interesting and due to the dates on which the tournament is held, it is likely that the teams have the best to seek the title, the last edition of the tournament was won by the United States who won the championship in the already distant 2017.
