A woman from Segovia will participate in the Spanish judo championship

The Segovian Sara Iglesias de Lucas, a 19-year-old athlete from Palazuelos de Eresma, will compete in the Spanish Championship in the Judo modality, a sport that she has been practicing in the Sports Schools Program of the Palazuelos de Eresma City Council since she was a child, specifically since the six years old.

The experience of attending the Spanish Championship, despite her youth, is not a novelty for Sara, since in 2017 she competed in the 63kg category and in 2019 in the 70kg category. On both occasions, the event was held in Valencia.

The pandemic has allowed Iglesias to reflect and establish some objectives, one of them, obtaining the title of Judo instructor, has already become a reality, another in which she is immersed in becoming a referee judge of Castilla y León and the last, get the Second Dan. In the physical aspect, the break did not diminish his strength, rather the opposite, since he has maintained his physical form and has shown it with the first place in the junior regional phase in 78 kg and the third position in the junior west sector phase of the same weight. Thus, among her immediate plans, she hopes to attend the Spanish University Championship and on the weekend of April 09 and 10, she will play the Spanish Judo Championship wherever she is located with the intention of reaching the top.
