Yankees most affected by Spring Training delay

While Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) continue to discuss a new collective bargaining agreement, players on the 40-man roster continue to suffer the consequences of the breaksince it has not yet been possible for them to report with their teams to the Spring Trainingwhich has been postponed.

There have been many Players Affected by Spring Camp Delayfor example in Yankeesthree of its important elements are the ones that would pay the most for not having baseball activity prior to the start of the 2022 season (if played).

1. Read You

Every Yankees Spring Training game lost means less time for Luke Voit to get the showcase he deserves; instead, the bitter taste of late 2021 still lingers, as New York theoretically looks to turn it around before Opening Day.

2. Oswaldo Cabrera

With the Yankees vacating their shortstop job, there was ample opportunity for 22-year-old Oswaldo Cabrera to make a positive impression this spring, having been added by Aaron Boone to their 40-man roster last fall.

3. Aaron Hicks

The Yankees probably have no idea what veteran Aaron Hicks will bring to the field next. So they’d love to know in March, at a time when the center fielder is reportedly completely healthy, having had wrist surgery last year.
