They define the future of César Farías, coach of Bolivia in the Qualifiers: they will let him finish | National teams

Venezuelan soccer coach César Farías will remain on the bench of the Bolivian team until the end of the South American Qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar, with two days remaining, the Bolivian Football Federation reported Thursday.

The president of the FBF, Fernando Costa, explained in a press conference that he has convinced Farías to remain in office until the Green play their remaining matches with the Colombian and Brazilian national teams. “We are going to have the services of Professor Farías until the conclusion of the qualifiers against Qatar,” announced the director.

He explained that the FBF does not have the economic conditions to “immediately disassociate” Farías, since the termination of the contract costs the entity some 400,000 dollars, according to local media. The FBF will begin “immediately” the search process for the new Green coach.

The Bolivian national team fell 2-3 to Chile on Tuesday at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz during the penultimate date of the Qualifiers. The Bolivians arrived at that match after suffering a 4-1 rout on their visit to the Venezuelan team.

After the game against Chile, Farías expressed, with a farewell tone, his gratitude to the players, the federation and the fans for supporting the team.

The Bolivian team is in eighth position with 15 points and no longer has a chance to qualify for the Qatar World Cup. La Verde must visit the Colombian team on March 24 and on March 29 they will receive Brazil. The former Venezuelan coach has led the Bolivian team since 2019, although in 2018 he was in charge on an interim basis.
