“That made the move to Feyenoord the right decision for me”

Guus Til is having a great time at Feyenoord. The 24-year-old midfielder has rediscovered his football happiness in Rotterdam after a failed period abroad. Together with Fredrik Aursnes and Orkun Kökcü, Til forms a strong midfield.

“I think it works so well with the three of us because we are so different,” Til told Hand in Hand magazine† ”Kökcü is the playmaker, Aursnes a real number six, with so much control and calm on the ball and I’m the runner. We each have our own qualities and complement each other so perfectly.”

They are also satisfied internally at Feyenoord. The team from Rotterdam would therefore like to continue with Til longer, but out of respect for Spartak Moscow, he does not talk about his future. ”Of course it was nice to hear that Feyenoord is satisfied with my game. My full focus is now on this season. I want to remain a starting player, continue to score goals and be so important to the club. And of course getting everything out of this season, both in the league and in the Conference League. That is my goal and I will give everything for that as long as I wear the Feyenoord shirt.”

“I like his attacking way of playing.”
Til did not hesitate for a moment to return to the Netherlands last summer. ”When Feyenoord came forward, I didn’t have to think long. I have always found Feyenoord to be a fantastic club, from an early age. And of course the trainer also played a role in my choice for Feyenoord. I have worked with him at AZ and know how he likes to play football. I like his attacking way of playing. I am a player who puts a lot of power and energy into the game and who lives on goals. That made the move to Feyenoord the right decision for me.”
