Now, Solskjaer and Carrick have plenty of free time to watch the Premier League’s lower division matches.

Most recently, both of them were present in the 2021/22 League One match when Ipswich Town hosted Doncaster, Tuesday (8/2/2022).

Ipswich Town is a special place for Solskjaer and Carrick because the club is currently being coached by Kieran McKenna.

Kieran McKenna was Solskjaer’s assistant who was actually kept by Ralf Rangnick, but chose to step down to coach Ipswich.

“They are both absolutely fantastic football humans, Champions League winners,” McKenna said EADT (8/2/2022).

Not only that, McKenna also appointed Solskjaer and Carrick as the newest Ipswich fans.

In other words, Elkan Baggott was already within the sight of the two famous coaches.

“They are both good friends and two Ipswich fans now,” said McKenna.

“They follow all the games and I think they look forward to watching it live at Portman Road.”

“They came to the hotel this afternoon and met some of the players and staff, very happy they came here and I appreciate it.”

Elkan Baggott is currently in the top layer of the Ipswich academy team and on the verge of promotion to the first team.

The Indonesian national team defender has undergone two consecutive matches as captain of Kieron Dyer’s Ipswich U-23.

Elkan Baggott’s name was also mentioned as McKenna’s first choice when there was a crisis in the first team’s defensive line.

“Did (Ipswich) Town have a defender crisis after Toto Nsiala’s move to Fleetwood?” wrote Stuart Watson for EADT (1/4/2022).

“Corrie Ndaba is currently on loan at League Two club Salford City, leaving the Under-23 player behind.”

“(Like) Elkan Baggott, Levi Andoh, and Albie Armin in the lining,” concluded Watson.

Elkan Baggott broke into the main squad last season when Ipswich was managed by Paul Cook.
