Senegalese footballers enter the finals of the African Cup of Nations / Day

In the semi-final match in the capital, Yaounde, Senegal beat Burkina Faso 3: 1 (0: 0).

In six minutes, the Senegalese scored two goals. Abdu Dialo made a run for the goal 70 minutes into the game but the home team’s far left defense managed to sort the situation out in the end.

Six minutes later, Burkina Faso recovered one goal. After passing the ball, Ibraims Turs put the ball into the right corner of the goal by Isas Kaborē – 1: 2.

In the 87th minute, another goal was scored in favor of Senegal in Mane, reaching 3: 1.

Egypt will meet with Cameroon in the second semi-final on Thursday.

The finals feature 24 national teams divided into six subgroups of four teams each. The two best teams in each sub-group, as well as the four best third place winners, entered the elimination tournament.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has decided to limit the number of fans in stadiums due to the spread of Covid-19. Housewives in Cameroon may attend up to 80 percent of the stadium’s capacity, while other matches may be attended by up to 60 percent of the stadium’s capacity.

The African Cup of Nations (African Championship) will take place in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6. The championship was supposed to take place last summer, but it was postponed to this winter and retained its title of “2021 Africa Cup of Nations.”

Algeria won the final tournament in Egypt in 2019, beating Senegal 1: 0 in the title match.
