Ricardo Allen retires after seven seasons in the NFL

Despite having a brief stint in the NFL that spanned less than a decade, the loss of los Bengals on el Super Bowl LVI it meant the last match played by Ricardo Allen in the league.

Through your Instagram accountthe 30-year-old safety reported that he is retiring from professional football after seven seasons. Allen, a Purdue graduate, said his goodbye to the league was not for health reasons.

“Dear football career. I am grateful to you for the opportunity you gave me to turn hard work into the foundation of a growing legacy. You taught me that it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.

“I am grateful to hang up the boots on my terms, with a great love for the sport and with great opportunities within my reach,” he wrote.

Recurring in the Super Bowl

Ricardo Allen was drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2015 Draft. and spent the first seven years of his career in Atlanta – he played in Super Bowl LI with the organization. In 2021 he joined the Bengals as a free agent. and saw activity in 14 games with Cincinnati (an ownership).

TotalAllen had 355 total tackles (six for negative yardage), 11 interceptions, 26 passes defensed and one fumble recovery. In the Super Bowl, his last game as a professional, he only saw activity on nine snaps, all on special teams.
