Ragusa – Sells drugs to minors: non-EU citizen expelled from the Sicily Region

He had started a profitable business of drug dealing in the baroque heart of Ragusa Ibla, supplying many young Iblei, including minors, with drugs, and for this reason a twenty-year-old non-EU resident in the city was referred to the Judicial Authority of the Public Prosecutor of Ragusa.

The facts begin at the end of November last year when the Carabinieri of Ragusa Ibla begin to notice strange movements in the areas between via Peschiera and piazza Duomo by a non-EU citizen. The collection of information from various sources also allows the military to pay particular attention to the young man up to start a real investigation activity, in concert with the local Prosecutor’s Office. The accurate reconstructions carried out also through the analysis of the video surveillance images present on the places of the shop, the checks carried out by the young hirers, who bought hashish and marijuana from the non-EU citizen, together with the study of the telephone traffic of drug dealers and customers, allowed the Carabinieri of Corso Don Minzoni to unequivocally crystallize the criminal conduct. The twenty-year-old was then deferred in a state of freedom as provided for by article 73 of the text on narcotic substances which punishes precisely the conduct of drug dealing.

The elements collected during the investigations by the Hyblaean military were considered solid and convincing by the Public Prosecutor who therefore requested a precautionary measure against the young African to prevent him from repeating the illicit conduct. The proposal was accepted by the Judge for preliminary investigations who issued the provision of the ban on staying in the Sicily region against the twenty-year-old. Following the notification of the provision, the subject immediately left the island.
