PSSI: If Mees Hilgers chooses the Dutch national team, Indonesia must be relieved

Exco PSSI Hasani Abdulgani provides the latest news regarding the naturalization of Mees Hilgers.

Hasani revealed that Hilgers was still hesitant to become an Indonesian citizen and strengthen the Garuda Squad.

The 20-year-old has reportedly not submitted documents as a condition for naturalization.

However, Hasani said that the decision rests with Hilgers and the Indonesian people must respect the player’s decision.

“If he chooses the Dutch national team, we should be relieved, we should be proud,” Hasani told the media crew.

Hasani added that Hilgers was actually still interested in joining Indonesia, but he did not know the reason why the Twente player had not submitted his documents.
