Valérie Gauvin can congratulate herself on having finished her first season with Everton in a fine 5th place in the FA Women’s Premier League, one of the most competitive championships in the world. With a total of 5 goals in 15 games, the 25-year-old striker has proven her ability to adapt in a foreign country. Nothing obvious for the one who left her Occitan cocoon in 2020, the cradle of her football career, with young people in Mirande then in Toulouse where she completed her training, before turning pro and joining Montpellier in 2014. her comfort zone, the scorer with 37 selections was not spared by the health crisis or injuries. However, she hung on to join the Blues last November against Kazakhstan, with a goal in the key. If her club is going through a zone of turbulence today (coach Jean-Luc Vasseur was recently fired), Valérie Gauvin intends to raise the bar and get back on the blue train, with Euro 2022 in her sights, which will take place… In England.
