Laporta opens the doors to the renewal of Dembélé!

Surprising script twist of the Dembélé case after the extraordinary display of play by the French striker on Sunday against Athletic. And it is that the Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta, one of the staunchest defenders in the club regarding leaving him without playing until the end of the season, has assumed that Xavi Hernández has been right with his decision to redirect the situation and open the doors to the team, to the point that right now he doesn’t even rule out that Dembélé will continue at FC Barcelona next season: “Dembélé knows our proposal and that we have always wanted him to stay, we hope that at the end of the season he will rethink it.”

These improvised statements were made by the top Blaugrana leader during his presence at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to the microphones of the SER chain, where he was participating in a conference colloquium. Apart from Ousmane, Laporta also had time to praise the repertoire of virtuosity that Pedri displayed in the win against Athletic: “Pedri is called to be one of the best players in the world, if not the best, but he knows he has to work hard”.

Before going to Mobile World, the president already sent an optimistic and exciting message through his official Twitter account with a clear and resounding message, “this is the path to success”, where Laporta was seen effusively hugging Xavi Hernández after finishing the match against Athletic.

Confirms that Barça wants to create its own cryptocurrency and launch NFT

On the other hand, he announced in a speech at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that the club intends to create its own cryptocurrency and, within this new technological ‘metaverse’, re-launch the Blaugrana NFTs. “We are developing our ‘metaverse’ and have refused to be associated with a cryptocurrency company. We want to create our own cryptocurrency, and we understand that we have to do it ourselves, there is enough talent for it. With the ‘blockchain’ great opportunities and business avenues appear”, explained Laporta.

For the Blaugrana president, NFTs – objects, works of art, images, among others, with a unique digital identifier – or cryptocurrency are part of the most immediate future, if not the present, of the club. “There is a new business world, and to compete in it we have to develop a great technology and research department, collaborate with start-up companies, universities, development centers, everything related to the world of innovation. The players know that we are in it, that we are a modern club that uses social networks, in the contracts there are clauses to control this new world of the NFT’s, the metaverse… We are already in it”, he pointed out.
