Jugon-les-Lacs – Les Vallées FC: a complicated and short 2020-2021 season for the Jugon-les-Lacs football club

The general assembly of the Vallées FC took place on Friday, July 9, at the village hall of Jugon-les-Lacs. Samuel Briens, the president, spoke of “a complicated and short season” by retracing the year 2020-2021. Only four games were played at the start of the season, “a white season for seniors”. Despite the particular context, he nevertheless notes: “We see that there is desire. We have to take it as an opportunity”.

“Progress is made by playing matches”

Training resumed after confinement, with good player participation. Jacky Briand, head of the women’s team, points out that some meetings have been organized by the French Football Federation. He also appeals to young girls to invite them to join the club.

Jérôme Noël, coach of the U13s, remarks that covid has demonstrated the importance of sports halls, in particular for young people. “Progression among young people is done by playing matches, which progress faster than training,” he explains.

The resumption is set for July 26. Jacky Briand confirms the presence of a senior women’s team with 11 players, with the aim of the mid-table.
