After 4 days without winning and being close to the relegation zone in the Qatar league, Laurent Blanc is no longer Al Rayyan’s coach. The French DT and the club reached an agreement to end the employment relationship after one year and two months.
Blanc was one of those responsible for the arrival of James Rodríguez to Al Rayyan in the month of September of last year. Under his technical leadership, the Colombian midfielder played 10 official matches in which he scored 3 goals for the local league.
The new coach of the James team is Nicolás Córdova, a former Chilean player who was managing the Qatar U23 team. He is 43 years old and as a footballer he played for Colo Colo, Unión Española, Perugia, Livorno, Parma, among other Italian clubs.
