Eclaron-Braucourt-Sainte-Livière labeled “Sports City” – JHM

DISTINCTION. The commune of Eclaron-Braucourt-Sainte-Livière was the only one in the department to be awarded the “Grand Est Sports City” label, on Saturday February 26, by the Grand Est Regional Olympic and Sports Committee.

The label awarded at a ceremony organized at the Maison des sports in Tomblaine, near Nancy, is valid for the period 2022-2026. Two other Haut-Marnaise municipalities, Bourmont and Chevillon, had previously received this label for the period from 2020 to 2024.

The first magistrate Jean-Yves Marin and the municipal councilor Olivier Rimbert were present at the ceremony and were given the official panel.

The mayor of Eclaron-Braucourt-Sainte-Livière took the opportunity to present the sports infrastructure, the projects being completed such as the playground and the multisport ground near the school group and to come as a pedestrian loop.

Lots of equipment

In terms of equipment, the municipality can pride itself on having one of the rare arc gardens in the Grand Est Region, a sports complex which has grown in recent years with the creation of a football field in eleven, an eight-a-side football pitch and a five-a-side synthetic pitch as well as rooms in the House of Associations where, among other things, judo, qwan ki do, gymnastics and archery are practiced . “This rewards above all and above all the athletes of our municipalities and all the volunteers, supervisors, leaders who bring our associations to life in rural areas”, commented Olivier Rimbert, who carried out the project by taking charge of the participation file.

This label, which is awarded to villages or small towns with less than 20,000 inhabitants, aims to highlight the richness of community life, the quality of relations with clubs, the availability of equipment and the entertainment and promotion of physical activity for all. 48 municipalities have been labeled this year within Grand Est. Panels will be installed within a few weeks at the entrances to the town following a ceremony to be held in Eclaron in the presence of representatives of the Grand Est Regional Olympic and Sports Committee.
