Drive On Championship: Céline Boutier and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard in ambush

See Céline Boutier and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard at the forefront of the LPGA, a predictable scene as one is already well established in the USA and as the other, a rookie, is ready to cut corners. In Florida this week, the two leaders of French golf are both in the top 10 of the Drive On Championship, halfway through the tournament.

Two Blues six shots from the lead

Ninth also, the neo pro Roussin-Bouchard never stops learning. After a go to -2, despite two bogeys erased by an eagle at hole 9, the Varoise continued to send birdies on the return (11, 12, then at 18). The pupil of Alain Alberti, former world number one amateur, finally gives an identical card to his compatriot, to go up 25 places in the ranking (-7 total).

This French shock duo is still within range of the leaders, embodied by Leona Maguire and Marina Alex (-13 total for the Irishwoman and the American).

Delacour with the big ones, failed cut for Laisné

A third Frenchwoman will also be there this weekend, as Perrine Delacour produced a superb reaction on this fish day. On the LPGA since 2014, the Habs have returned a nice 67 (-5), with six birdies. She thus goes up from 85th place to 28th place, in -4 total.

Cut missed on the other hand for Agathe Laisné, who will not see the Florida weekend for her debut on the LPGA 2022 (72-73, +1).
