[머니투데이 경기=박광섭 기자] Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 28th that it will build a 37,288 square meter ‘Million Neighborhood Park’ in 7277 Taepyeong-dong, Sujeong-gu, by the end of next year. The site was the site of 7 dog kennels and slaughterhouses from 2001 to 2018.
The total project cost is 36.2 billion won (including 27.7 billion won for land compensation). Seongnam City will start the park development on the 2nd of next month after going through administrative procedures such as determining the park development plan and announcing the implementation plan.
The park will include a playground, landscape yard, multi-purpose lawn yard, gateball court, multi-purpose stadium, badminton court, and promenade. An underground public parking lot with a capacity of 121 cars will also be built.
An official from Seongnam City said, “The name of the park, million, means 1 million citizens.” “It will become a healing space in the city center where local residents can enjoy rest, leisure and sports.”
