Hamburg (dpa / lni) – The former Rasta Vechta trainer Pedro Calles has left open whether he will extend his contract with the basketball Bundesliga club Hamburg Towers, which is due to expire in the summer. “When I signed for the Towers in 2020, I didn’t intend to stay here for just two years. The club have made great strides since then. However, for a contract extension, circumstances have to be right on both sides. If we find the time, We’ll see about talking about it,” said the 38-year-old Spaniard in an interview with the “Hamburger Abendblatt” (Thursday).

In principle, the coach can imagine a move to another country, where the basketball clubs, especially in his native Spain, have significantly higher budgets. “Otherwise I would limit my career as a coach,” said Calles, who came to the Hanseatic city from Rasta Vechta two years ago. “My family and I want to stay in Germany if possible. That is our current priority,” added the Spaniard, who led the Towers to the EuroCup before this season.
