Badminton: CVN Bad pulls out of the game

For the badminton club of Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas and Alès, the year will have been disrupted, but not spoiled.

Thanks to recent tournaments, notably in Saint-Mathieu-de-Trviers, Armance Farell, in the minimal category and Raphaël Teil, the youngest, are now competing against national-level badminton players. “Armance took seventy-four pointscomments Alex Bonnafous, the president and coach of the club. She beat a player who became 8th French. And it’s nice because beyond 10th place, it’s the French team. Armance will therefore inevitably come across players from the national team during the next tournaments. Remarkable results made possible by regular training, despite restrictive health measures for sports clubs.

Children could not occupy the gymnasiumexplains Alex Bonnafous. But as two young people evolve at the national level, the municipality gave us the keys to the gymnasium to allow them, and them alonehe says, to train four hours per week.

No question for these two young badistes to accumulate seven months of absence on the grounds, while the adults continued to train.

We have the staff to supervise themunderlines the veteran, and we always find a place to play. This winter, we spent two months outside and in the cold. When we recovered the gymnasium, we breathed. It is also thanks to the municipality that we were able to stay the course.”

The CVN Bad has a workforce of 110 licensees still active out of 130 registered.
