After two seasons disrupted by the Covid, little by little, things seem to be returning to normal in sporting terms. This means that clubs can once again offer tournaments. Between 2 days of departmental interclubs, the Badistes of the Emblavez went all weekend to Langogne to compete in the “Garganbad” tournament.
12 players had registered to go to Lozère soil.
On Saturday, 4 pairs 100% BCE participated in the mixed doubles table. 2 other players were also associated with partners from other clubs. And it is from one of these “mixed” pairs that the performance of the weekend came since Angélo DO associated with Emma DAVIES of the Brives Charensac club won series 1 which is the most difficult series. They emerged undefeated from a pool comprising players from the clubs of Tain/Tournon in Ardèche, Mende in Lozère and Vichy Cusset in Allier.
Sunday is the ladies’ and men’s doubles. 9 club players were in competition. It is once again in series 1 that the most beautiful performance has arrived. Julie SOUTON and her partner Anaïs EYRAUD from the Vichy Cusset club (but still dismissed from the BCE last season) made it to the final. In chickens, they had faced players from Mende then from La Canourgue and finally a mixed pair from Brives / Tournon. In the semi-final it was a pair of players from Mende that they had dismissed in 2 sets. And so in the final, they fail against a pair from Langon after 2 hard-fought sets.
The Ecoplume on March 19 and 20
In a month, it will be the turn of the Emblavez club to welcome players from all walks of life during the Emblavez Ecoplume tournament. 150 players from 24 clubs in the AURA region but also from Occitanie are expected. On March 19 and 20, the Emblavez gymnasium in Lavoûte-sur-Loire will be full for 2 very sporty days. This year, for the first time, the Ecoplume tournament is 100% reserved for senior players.
A second tournament called “Eco-kid de l’Emblavez” will be organized at Lavoûte on Saturday 30 April. All youth categories will be represented and a senior mixed doubles draw will also take place.
