Alves, punished with two games for the expulsion against Atlético

Brazilian defender Dani Alves, a Barcelona footballer, was sanctioned yesterday with two suspension matches by the Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Alves, who scored one of four goals in his team’s victory over Atletico Madrid last Sunday (4-2), was sent off with a direct red card for a behind-the-scenes shot from Belgian Yannick Carrasco. In this way, he will not be able to play this weekend at the Espanyol field, nor will he be available for the coach, Xavi Hernández, to receive Athletic Club at the Camp Nou on the next day.
