Al-Khelaïfi had a crazy idea in mind to enlarge the Parc des Princes!

Zapping Our Mondial Winning pass

This is a subject that occupied discussions for many months. The Qatari leaders of PSG, who have always wanted to dream big since their arrival in Paris, have long tried to put the question of expanding the Parc des Princes on the table. A project which nevertheless seems to be stored for the moment, faced with the technical difficulties of enlarging the stadium, but also brakes of all kinds.

The leaders of the PSG also have other priorities for the moment, with in particular the construction of the enormous complex which must replace the Camp des Loges, on the side of Poissy. A project that required an investment of 200 million euros. But the question of the stadium therefore sparked the wildest dreams, and the Spanish agency EFE, which came back to this file, made an incredible revelation!

An inverted Eiffel Tower structure!

Indeed, according to the agency notably taken over by Marca, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi imagined an enlargement of the Parc des Princes by means of a metal structure in the shape of an inverted Eiffel Tower! An idea that would have made it possible to create a kind of “third amphitheater capable of accommodating up to 30,000 additional spectators”. A project finally left aside due to the cost and technical difficulties given the location of the Parc des Princes, on the Paris ring road.

to summarize

While the question of the extension of the Parc des Princes has long been a subject at PSG, a crazy idea would have even crossed the leaders. Only, this hypothesis was quickly abandoned while the expansion is no longer a priority.
