After the skiathlon, Therese Johaug adorns herself with gold in the 10 km classic in cross-country skiing

After the skiathlon on Saturday, the Norwegian Therese Johaug picked up a second gold medal at the Beijing Olympics after winning the women’s 10km cross-country skiing classic on Thursday in China.

Johaug, 33, completed the 10 km in 28:06.3 and beat the Finn by four small tenths of a second Kerttu Niskanen. Krista Fingeroskianother Finn, took the bronze medal at 31.5 seconds.

Last Saturday, Johaug had already won the gold medal in the skiathlon, an event consisting of a course of 7.5 km carried out in classic style and another of 7.5 in freestyle, with a change of equipment between the two.

The Norwegian thus won the third Olympic title of her career. She also won gold in the 4x5km relay at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.

Suspended between October 2016 and April 2018 for anabolic steroid use, Johaug was unable to compete in the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018.
