Young Ajax sets new club record with unbeaten series
Young Ajax set a new club record on Monday evening. The promises won 2-1 against FC Den Bosch at home and thus remained unbeaten for the thirteenth time in a row. On October 1, John Heitinga’s team lost for the last time, when Helmond Sport was too strong 3-1. Hereafter, nine wins and four draws followed. On Sunday, Telstar is the next opponent.
KNVB appoints Makkelie for PSV – Ajax
Danny Makkelie whistles the top match between PSV and Ajax. The KNVB will announce this on Monday. Rob Dieperink will serve as VAR on Sunday afternoon. The match in Eindhoven will be a crucial one, given the small difference between the two teams in the ranking. Ten Hag sets a unique record with the hundredth Eredivisie victory
Erik ten Hag set a unique record on Sunday afternoon. The trainer booked his hundredth Eredivisie victory as Ajax coach during a visit to FC Utrecht and needed 128 matches for that. Never before has an Ajax trainer – or a trainer of any Dutch club – managed to win his hundredth victory so quickly. The record was held by Louis van Gaal, who needed 137 games.
Schenkel does not extend expiring contract and leaves Ajax Women
Danny Schenkel will not extend his expiring contract with the Ajax Women, the club announced via the official channels. The trainer has decided in good consultation that he will look for a new challenge. Schenkel started in the summer of 2019 as the trainer of the Ajax Women. Last season he won the Eredivisie Cup and currently the women’s team of the Amsterdam top club is the leader in the competition.
‘Together with Ajax, I took a new path 2.5 years ago to further professionalize women’s football at Ajax and to play recognizable football based on the Ajax DNA. We have succeeded in that. In addition to developing as a team, the players have also developed strongly individually. For now, we focus on the second half of the season. We are still actively participating for prizes on three fronts. We will end my period at Ajax very nicely!’, says Schenkel about his decision.
Antony wins Talent of the Month election
Antony has been elected as Talent of the Month in the Eredivisie for the first time in his career at Ajax. The Brazil international earned the award based on statistics and fan votes in the month of December. It is not the first time that an Ajax player has been elected Johan Cruijf Talent of the Month: earlier this competition, Jurriën Timber already won the election twice. He won in September and November.

Neres says goodbye: ‘Thank you for your positive impact on me’
David Neres has said goodbye to Ajax via Instagram. Through a beautiful video, with matching text, he waves goodbye to Shakhtar Donetsk from the Amsterdam club. ‘Since Ajax has been a part of my life, I have never stayed the same. Thank you for your positive impact on me,” the Brazilian wrote.
Ajax shares beautiful video with highlights of Neres
Ajax announced on Friday morning that David Neres will leave the club. The Brazilian is leaving for Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine for at least 12 million euros. Reason for the Amsterdam club to reminisce about the wing attacker. Ajax does that with a beautiful video, shared on the official Twitter account.

Bandé shoots Burkina Faso to African Cup victory
Hassane Bandé has not yet played an official minute in Ajax 1, but partly because he does get to play on a rental basis at NK Istra 1961, he is present at the Africa Cup with his country Burkina Faso. The first group match, against André Onana’s Cameroon, was lost 2-1 to the Burkinese, where former Ajax player Bertrand Traoré is captain. Bandé came on shortly before time in that match, but was unable to make any difference. How different it was on Thursday. Burkina Faso played the second group match against Cape Verde and Bandé started as left winger. Shortly before half-time, he signed on a pass from Issa Kabore for the only and therefore winning goal of the match. It was also his first goal as a Burkinabe international for Bandé.
Stem Tadić in het FIFA 22 Team of the Year!
Dusan Tadić has been nominated for FIFA 22’s Team of the Year. The Ajax captain won both the national championship and the KNVB Cup with his team in the past calendar year, and also qualified with Serbia for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. Tadić can count on stiff competition during the election. Players such as Neymar Jr and Cristiano Ronaldo have been nominated. Voting can be done via the EA Sports website.

Gözübüyük appointed as arbitrator during FC Utrecht – Ajax
Serdar Gözübüyük has been appointed by the KNVB as the arbitrator during FC Utrecht – Ajax. The match is next Sunday at 12.15 pm in the Galgenwaard Stadium. Gözübüyük will be assisted by Joost van Zuilen, Johan Balder and fourth official Igmar Oostrom. Clay Ruperti and Hessel Steegstra form the duo in the VAR van.

End of season for Vita van der Linden
The Ajax Women will no longer have Vita van der Linden for the rest of this season. The 25-year-old defender suffered a knee injury before the winter break during the Classic. She has now undergone surgery on her knee. Van der Linden is sidelined for the rest of the season due to her knee injury.
