According to our colleagues from Herald Sun, Venus Williams will not play the Australian Open. Serena having announced her forfeit, neither of the two Williams sisters will participate in the first Grand Slam tournament of the season.
An event since it was 25 years (1997) that at least one of the two Williams competes in the Australian tournament. As a reminder, Venus Williams has never won the Australian Open, failing in the final twice, in 2003 and in 2017.
