Fortitudo Baseball continues the path of building the team for the 2022 season, entrusted to the highly confirmed technical staff coordinated by Manager Frignani, with the aim of creating a competitive team at the highest levels. The new year begins with an important announcement; the biancoblu company has in fact ensured the performance of one of the most successful talents in Italian baseball. We are talking about Alessandro Deotto, twenty-six years old from Monfalcone (Go), with the role of receiver; will pair up with Liberatore and will also be able to disengage with the role of designated hitter, to make the most of his offensive skills.
Born on 7 December 1995, Deotto, who beats and pulls right, has been treading the diamonds of the A1 series since 2015, mainly defending the colors of Parma, with the exception of a couple of years, when he played a season with Rangers Redipuglia ( 2019) and with Collecchio (2021); therefore that of 2022, wearing the white and blue jersey, will be his eighth year in the top flight.
There are 165 races disputed up to now, each of which contributed to the technical and athletic maturity of the boy, who ended the 2021 season beating with the excellent average of
.298, with an “on base” percentage of .394 and an average “slugging” of .579, the result of 5 doubles, 9 home runs, the absolute best of the entire Serie A 2021, with the production of 33 points beaten at home . For him also 17 bases balls, 33 strikeouts and 8 stolen bases. Eloquent figures, which convinced the biancoblu management to bet strongly on the player.
Alessandro Deotto meets baseball in the early years of his childhood, following his brother in training and only 8 years old he plays in the ranks of Cervignano, and then in 2007 he moves to the New Black Panthers of Ronchi dei Legionari, with whom he disputes the students’ championship. In 2010 he arrived in Redipuglia for military with cadets and under-21s and already in 2011 he made his debut in the Serie C championship. he also enters the Tirrenia Academy for an experience that becomes three years. In 2012, at the age of 16, he arrived in Emilia, competing in a championship with Palfinger Reggio Emilia in federal Serie A (7 races, avg .250) and at the same time the under21 with Junior Parma, fully becoming part of the system baseball parmesan, where he can “gain experience” even in the ranks of the Oltretorrente in 2013 (13 matches, avg .257, ob .381, slg .343) and back to his native land, on loan to the New Black Panthers in 2014 (27 matches, avg .266, ob .377, slg .489), again in the second series, before joining the first team at Parma in the following season.
In the year of his debut in the top flight (2015), Deotto closed his regular season by beating .197 in 24 games and already during the second season (2016) his figures increased in depth, playing 29 games and closing with a batting average of .270, embellished with 5 doubles and 2 triples. In 2017 his contribution becomes more consistent, obtaining, again in 29 games played, 4 doubles, 3 triples and the first 3 home runs in the top flight, losing a hair on average batting (.240) and beating 17 RBI. In 2018, fourth season with Parma, he has less opportunity to show off (18 games) and the averages are affected. In 2019 the athlete moved to Redipuglia, where he disputed 22 races, closing with an average of .231, also bringing a precious contribution in terms of extrabase (2 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs for a .462) and RBI (13). In 2020 he returns to Parma, closing with only 12 very promising races and averages (avg .344, obp .400, slg .719) due to a story that will see him fully acquitted of doping charges, redeeming himself, as described, also on the field with an impressive 2021 season in Collecchio.
